About
I am SOUVENIR, a young crop farmer from Musanze, Rwanda, committed to advancing modern and sustainable agribusiness across the East African region. My farming activities focus on cultivating staple and market‑oriented crops, where I apply improved practices in soil management, productivity enhancement, and seasonal planning. Through hands‑on experience, I have developed strong skills in crop production, field management, and small‑scale agribusiness operations. As a youth farmer, I am passionate about transforming agriculture into a more innovative and profitable sector. I actively explore new techniques, digital tools, and climate‑smart approaches that can help farmers increase yields, reduce losses, and access better markets. My interest in technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, motivates me to learn how digital solutions can support farmers through improved decision‑making, weather insights, and market information systems. I believe agribusiness is a powerful opportunity for young people, offering both economic growth and community impact. Joining the EAC Youth Agribusiness Portal will allow me to connect with fellow young farmers, share experiences, learn new methods, and contribute to regional agricultural transformation.

Impact & Achievements
Crop Production Focus) As a young crop farmer in Musanze, I have contributed to improving small‑scale agricultural productivity and youth engagement in farming. Through adopting better soil‑management practices, timely planting, and improved crop‑care methods, I have consistently increased yields on my plots, demonstrating that modern techniques can significantly boost production even at a small scale. I have also supported fellow young farmers in my community by sharing practical knowledge on crop cultivation, seasonal planning, and basic agribusiness skills. This has helped more youth understand farming as a viable income‑generating activity rather than a traditional occupation. My efforts have encouraged several young people to start small crop farms, strengthening local food production and community resilience. Additionally, I actively explore digital tools and climate‑smart approaches, helping introduce simple technologies—such as weather‑tracking apps and market‑price platforms—to nearby farmers. This has improved decision‑making, reduced losses, and increased market awareness among youth farmers. My impact reflects a commitment to transforming agriculture into a modern, profitable, and youth‑driven sector.
